The seventh race on the Formula One calendar is Istanbul and the two Red Bull drivers lead the championship. Mark Webber wants his third win in a row. Mark Webber and his Red Bull team are on a high going into Sunday’s (30 May 2010) Turkish Grand Prix. Back-to-back Formula One wins in Spain and Monaco have taken Red Bull to the top of the constructors’ championship and Webber to join top of the drivers’ championship with his team mate Sebastian Vettel. The Istanbul track is another of the modern circuits but more interesting for spectators and drivers than some of the other recent additions, Bahrain for example. A big difficulty here will be keeping tyre wear under control and some teams may opt for two tyre stops.

The first tyre problem will be early on when the cars are fully loaded with fuel and they have to handle the long turn eight. There are also enough twists and turns on the track to put pressure on the tyres throughout the race.
Getting the right set-up will be important and tricky as the circuit is a mix of fast straights and fast and slow corners.
Jenson Button won the race from pole last year.

Watch F1 Monaco Grand Prix Live Online at www.watchf1.net. Reigning world champion Jenson Button will start the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday (16 May 2010) with a narrow lead in the drivers’ standings after only managing fifth place in last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix. And team McLaren still lead the constructors’ championship despite Lewis Hamilton crashing out with a puncture in Barcelona one lap from the end. All eyes in Spain though were on the Red Bull team, which were easily the fastest cars on the circuit and came in first with Mark Webber and third with Sebastian Vettel – it would have been a one-two if not for a poor pit stop and technical problems near the end. Fernando Alonso capitalised on Vettel’s problems to take second place and move up to second in the drivers’ championship.

Nico Rosberg, who was second going into the Barcelona race, had a poor qualifying and even worse race and ended up thirteenth, dropping him down to fifth in what is turning into a tight battle. The top seven in the championship are separated by just twenty-one points and a win this season is worth twenty-five points.

Spain was the turn of Rosberg’s Mercedes team mate Michael Schumacher to shine and he held off a challenge from Button to hold onto fourth place.

There were also congratulations in Spain to the Virgin team that managed to get both its drivers home for the first time.

Monaco Grand Prix

The tight street circuit in Monte Carlo is the most famous in the Formula One calendar, and the fun is likely to start in final qualifying on Saturday. There have been problems with overcrowding in qualifying before on this circuit but with twenty-four cars this year it could end in chaos and tears. With overtaking notoriously difficult, qualifying is extremely important and that should favour the extra speed the Red Bull team seems to have found.

The course is one that favours the brave but not the reckless as only a small deviation from the racing line can send the car into a metal barrier or kerb.

F1-Italian-GP-Live-OnlineThe 2009 F1 season has thrown up many surprises, and the form book was turned upside down at Spa. Giancarlo Fisichella was the sensation of qualifying, claiming pole for Force India. Although he was passed in the race by Kimi Raikkonen’s KERS assisted Ferrari the Italian doggedly stayed with the Finn, crossing the line less than one second behind. You can see if Force India can go one position better at Monza with live Formula 1 streaming at www.watchf1.net. They will be without the services of Fisichella, who has landed himself a race seat with Ferrari replacing Luca Badoer.

Renault find themselves embroiled in further controversy ahead of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza. The FIA have launched an investigation following allegations that Nelson Piquet’s crash during the 2009 Singapore Grand Prix was deliberate. The crash brought out the safety car, benefiting Piquet’s team-mate Fernando Alonso who went on to win the race.

The 2009 Italian Grand Prix is scheduled to take place over 53 laps of the 5.793 km (3.600 miles) Monza circuit, amounting to a total race distance of 306.720 km (190.596 miles). Juan-Pablo Montoya recorded the fastest lap in F1 history at Monza in 2002, circulating at an average speed of 262.242 km/h (162.949 mph). Follow the Italian GP live online at www.watchf1.net to see if any of the current Formula 1 driver’s can approach the Columbian’s speed.

Monza has a long history of producing high speed races and close finishes. In 1971 Peter Gethin won the closest Grand Prix ever, with the top five cars covered by just over half a second.

It is near impossible to predict a winner of the Italian GP. Red Bull arrived at Spa as favourites, but had a disappointing weekend. Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel heads to his home Grand Prix at the Nurburgring on the back of a convincing British GP victory. The German Grand Prix takes place on July 12th and you can follow all the action here at www.watchf1.net with live Formula 1 streaming online.

F1 World Championship leader could only manage sixth place at Silverstone, giving Red Bull’s Vettel the chance to close on the Englishman in the race for the Formula 1 title. Watch the German GP live online at www.watchf1.net to see if they can increase the pressure on the Brawn GP driver at the Nurburgring.

The German Grand Prix is the ninth round of the 2009 F1 World Championship. So far Button has won seven races, with Vettel claiming the other two. Last year’s German GP, which was held at Hockenheim, saw Lewis Hamilton win from pole in his McLaren. Nelson Piquet scored the only podium of his F1 career to date with a second place finish, while Ferrari’s Felipe Massa was third. On current form it would require a minor miracle for any of them to win this year’s race.

While Button and Vettel have claimed the glory so far in 2009 their team-mates are still well in contention for the title. Brawn GP’s Rubens Barrichello lies second in the standings, while Red Bull’s Mark Webber is fourth following his second place in the British Grand Prix. Watch the F1 live online at www.watchf1.net to see if either man can take their first victory of the 2009 Formula 1 season.

At www.watchf1.net you can watch all 60 laps of the 2009 German Grand Prix live online, giving a total race distance of 308.863 km (191.938 miles). The current Nurburgring circuit lies next to the original track, which measures over 14 miles in length. Formula 1 last visited the fearsome Nurburgring Nordschleife in 1976. Following Niki Lauda’s near fatal crash that year the track was considered too dangerous. The 2009 German GP will be held on the much shorter 5.148 km (3.199 miles) layout.

The modern Nurburgring provides F1 drivers with a variety of challenges. Watch all the German GP action live online to see who copes best with the circuit’s mixture of corners and elevation changes. Notable overtaking opportunities are the Dunlop hairpin and the NGK chicane, just before the end of the lap.

The 2009 German Grand Prix promises to provide yet another thrilling instalment in the battle for the F1 World Championship. At www.watchf1.net you can see who emerges on top in a race which can also feature unpredictable weather.

A subscription to www.watchf1.net means you won’t miss any of the action as the fight for the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship becomes ever more intense. Besides live online F1 streaming a subscription also gives access to live online NASCAR coverage and live online MotoGP streaming.

Last year’s Monaco GP was won by Lewis Hamilton, but the defending F1 World Champion is unlikely to be in contention for victory this year, as he continues to struggle with his troublesome McLaren. Last year’s pole-sitter Felipe Massa could be in with a chance of victory, as Ferrari showed improved performance in the recent Spanish GP.

The Red Bull pair of Webber and Sebastian Vettel should be up front in Monaco. They have a very quick car and both go well on the tricky street circuit. Last year both Webber and Vettel finished in the points. Follow their progress at www.watchf1.net to see if they can make the podium this year.

Although Ferrari and Red Bull will be hoping for victory in Monaco the Brawn GP team remain favourites for the race. Barrichello, Formula 1’s most experienced driver, made it clear after the Spanish GP that he will walk away from the sport if he discovers team orders are being used in the team to favour Button. Watch live Monaco GP F1 streaming at www.watchf1.net to see if the veteran Brazilian can get the better of his team-mate and score his first Grand Prix victory since 2004.

At the other end of the grid Toro Rosso will be hoping for a better race than Spain, where both cars were eliminated on the first lap. Renault’s Nelson Piquet continues to struggle in the shadow of his double World Champion team-mate Fernando Alonso. Watch the 2009 Monaco GP live online here to find out if the young Brazilian can turn his season around at the most demanding race of the season.

The Monaco circuit rewards precision and, with barriers in close proximity to the track, punishes mistakes. The race has thrown up some surprise winners over the years, such as Olivier Panis in 1996. Catch F1 live online at www.watchf1.net to see if the 2009 race produces another upset.

The 2009 Monaco GP takes place on Sunday, May 24th. The race will be run over 78 laps of the demanding 3.340 km (2.075 miles) circuit, giving a total race distance of 260.520 km (161.887 miles).  The lap record is still held by retired multiple F1 World Champion Michael Schumacher. Watch Monaco Grand Prix live online here to find out if any driver can challenge the German’s time of 1 minute, 14.439 seconds.
