The seventh race on the Formula One calendar is Istanbul and the two Red Bull drivers lead the championship. Mark Webber wants his third win in a row. Mark Webber and his Red Bull team are on a high going into Sunday’s (30 May 2010) Turkish Grand Prix. Back-to-back Formula One wins in Spain and Monaco have taken Red Bull to the top of the constructors’ championship and Webber to join top of the drivers’ championship with his team mate Sebastian Vettel. Subscribe Now and Watch Turkish Grand Prix 2010 Live Online.

The Istanbul track is another of the modern circuits but more interesting for spectators and drivers than some of the other recent additions, Bahrain for example. A big difficulty here will be keeping tyre wear under control and some teams may opt for two tyre stops.

The first tyre problem will be early on when the cars are fully loaded with fuel and they have to handle the long turn eight. There are also enough twists and turns on the track to put pressure on the tyres throughout the race.
Getting the right set-up will be important and tricky as the circuit is a mix of fast straights and fast and slow corners.
Jenson Button won the race from pole last year.

Watch F1 Monaco Grand Prix Live Online at www.watchf1.net. Reigning world champion Jenson Button will start the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday (16 May 2010) with a narrow lead in the drivers’ standings after only managing fifth place in last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix. And team McLaren still lead the constructors’ championship despite Lewis Hamilton crashing out with a puncture in Barcelona one lap from the end. All eyes in Spain though were on the Red Bull team, which were easily the fastest cars on the circuit and came in first with Mark Webber and third with Sebastian Vettel – it would have been a one-two if not for a poor pit stop and technical problems near the end. Fernando Alonso capitalised on Vettel’s problems to take second place and move up to second in the drivers’ championship.

Nico Rosberg, who was second going into the Barcelona race, had a poor qualifying and even worse race and ended up thirteenth, dropping him down to fifth in what is turning into a tight battle. The top seven in the championship are separated by just twenty-one points and a win this season is worth twenty-five points.

Spain was the turn of Rosberg’s Mercedes team mate Michael Schumacher to shine and he held off a challenge from Button to hold onto fourth place.

There were also congratulations in Spain to the Virgin team that managed to get both its drivers home for the first time.

Monaco Grand Prix

The tight street circuit in Monte Carlo is the most famous in the Formula One calendar, and the fun is likely to start in final qualifying on Saturday. There have been problems with overcrowding in qualifying before on this circuit but with twenty-four cars this year it could end in chaos and tears. With overtaking notoriously difficult, qualifying is extremely important and that should favour the extra speed the Red Bull team seems to have found.

The course is one that favours the brave but not the reckless as only a small deviation from the racing line can send the car into a metal barrier or kerb.

It has been a turbulent few weeks for motor racing. Both accidents were caused by objects from other cars striking the driver’s crash helmet.

With the focus firmly on safety Renault has been suspended from the European Grand Prix after being accused of releasing Fernando Alonso’s car from the pits in Hungary with a loose wheel which later detached. Watch the European Grand Prix live online at www.watchf1.net to see if the FIA will overturn the decision and allow Alonso to race in front of his home crowd. Nelson Piquet has lost his Renault drive and will most likely be replaced by GP2 driver Romain Grosjean.

valenciaMassa has now left hospital in his native Brazil and Valencia was due to see the much anticipated return of Michael Schumacher to Formula 1. The seven times F1 World Champion was set to replace Massa at Ferrari after an absence of nearly three years from Grand Prix racing, but cancelled his comeback due to a neck injury. You can watch live online Formula 1 streaming at www.watchf1.net and find out who does eventually land the second Ferrari seat.

Brawn GP’s Jenson Button still leads the Formula 1 World Championship but the Englishman hasn’t looked like winning recently. At the last race in Germany Mark Webber finally scored his maiden win after years of terrible luck. The Red Bull driver won the German Grand Prix convincingly, despite being handed a drive through penalty. Watch the Hungarian Grand Prix live online at www.watchf1.net to see if the popular Australian can make it two Formula 1 wins in a row.

Webber’s team-mate Sebastian Vettel finished second at the Nurburgring, closing the gap on F1 World Championship leaders Brawn GP and Jenson Button. While the Red Bull pair appear to be working in perfect harmony the mood is considerably darker in the Brawn garage. Rubens Barrichello publicly criticised the team after a pit stop problem left the Brazilian down in sixth place, behind his team-mate Button. At www.watchf1.net you can follow Barrichello at the Hungaroring and see if he can turn his season around.

Qualifying, as ever, will be vitally important at the Hungaroring. The tight, twisty and dusty track offers precious few opportunities for overtaking. It is not impossible, however. In 1989 Nigel Mansell won the race after starting from 12th. In 2006 Button won his first F1 race at the track despite starting from 14th on the grid. Watch the 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix live online at www.watchf1.net to see if any driver can perform a similar feat.

The 2009 Hungarian Grand Prix will be held on July 26th over 70 laps of the 4.381 km (2.722 miles) Hungaroring circuit. This makes a total race distance of 306.458 km (190.420 miles). The lap record dates from 2004, when Michael Schumacher recorded a time of 1 minute, 19.071 seconds in his Ferrari. Ferrari had a mixed weekend last time out in Germany. Felipe Massa finished third, but Kimi Raikkonen’s car failed. McLaren also experienced contrasting fortunes. Defending Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton’s race was compromised at the very first corner when he picked up a puncture in a collision with Webber. Heikki Kovalainen drove solidly to finish in eighth position. Watch Formula 1 live online at www.watchf1.net to see if either of these great Formula 1 teams can score their maiden wins of the 2009 F1 season.

Williams driver Nico Rosberg heads to the Hungarian Grand Prix full of confidence after a fourth place finish last time out. Force India’s Adrian Sutil also showed well, until a collision with Raikkonen caused him to drop out of the points.
