The seventh race on the Formula One calendar is Istanbul and the two Red Bull drivers lead the championship. Mark Webber wants his third win in a row. Mark Webber and his Red Bull team are on a high going into Sunday’s (30 May 2010) Turkish Grand Prix. Back-to-back Formula One wins in Spain and Monaco have taken Red Bull to the top of the constructors’ championship and Webber to join top of the drivers’ championship with his team mate Sebastian Vettel. The Istanbul track is another of the modern circuits but more interesting for spectators and drivers than some of the other recent additions, Bahrain for example. A big difficulty here will be keeping tyre wear under control and some teams may opt for two tyre stops.

The first tyre problem will be early on when the cars are fully loaded with fuel and they have to handle the long turn eight. There are also enough twists and turns on the track to put pressure on the tyres throughout the race.
Getting the right set-up will be important and tricky as the circuit is a mix of fast straights and fast and slow corners.
Jenson Button won the race from pole last year.

Watch F1 Monaco Grand Prix Live Online at www.watchf1.net. Reigning world champion Jenson Button will start the Monaco Grand Prix on Sunday (16 May 2010) with a narrow lead in the drivers’ standings after only managing fifth place in last weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix. And team McLaren still lead the constructors’ championship despite Lewis Hamilton crashing out with a puncture in Barcelona one lap from the end. All eyes in Spain though were on the Red Bull team, which were easily the fastest cars on the circuit and came in first with Mark Webber and third with Sebastian Vettel – it would have been a one-two if not for a poor pit stop and technical problems near the end. Fernando Alonso capitalised on Vettel’s problems to take second place and move up to second in the drivers’ championship.

Nico Rosberg, who was second going into the Barcelona race, had a poor qualifying and even worse race and ended up thirteenth, dropping him down to fifth in what is turning into a tight battle. The top seven in the championship are separated by just twenty-one points and a win this season is worth twenty-five points.

Spain was the turn of Rosberg’s Mercedes team mate Michael Schumacher to shine and he held off a challenge from Button to hold onto fourth place.

There were also congratulations in Spain to the Virgin team that managed to get both its drivers home for the first time.

Monaco Grand Prix

The tight street circuit in Monte Carlo is the most famous in the Formula One calendar, and the fun is likely to start in final qualifying on Saturday. There have been problems with overcrowding in qualifying before on this circuit but with twenty-four cars this year it could end in chaos and tears. With overtaking notoriously difficult, qualifying is extremely important and that should favour the extra speed the Red Bull team seems to have found.

The course is one that favours the brave but not the reckless as only a small deviation from the racing line can send the car into a metal barrier or kerb.

The event will now use the 3.9 mile endurance circuit, which incorporates an extra six turns as well as the majority of the configuration used in recent years. The additional track leaves the circuit just after turn four, sweeping left then right before entering a slower complex and finally a hairpin that rejoins at the old turn five. The new layout has been used in endurance sports car racing in the past and the circuit chairman Zayed R. Alzayani is hoping it will suit the 26-car Formula One grid for 2010.

This race is sponsored by Gulf Air. The Bahrain International Circuit began in 2002 and by the time he finished it was so great that it overshadowed by Kuwait Circuit and was the core of motor racing circuits in the Persian Gulf. The first race was in 2004 and is host to a lot of racing events including Formula One, GT Racing, Formula 3 race and the Australian V8 Supercars Series. This year is a new configuration called endurance circuits, which rounds kilomters 6299 and will turn left just after four. The event began in 2004 with Michael Schumacher winning the first time. The following year, it was Fernando Alonso who took the top podium position, and won again in 2006, which he remembered as the first driver to win two races back to return to the Middle East. Felipe Massa also has the honor of winning two races on this circuit, and last year it was Jenson Button win Brawn GP. You can watch f1 racing live by your membership at www.watchf1.net. The Japanese Grand Prix on October 4th is round 15 of the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship. This year the race takes place at Suzuka and you can watch the 2009 Japanese GP live online at www.watchf1.net.

Brawn GP’s Jenson Button moved a step closer to winning his maiden F1 title last time out in Singapore by finishing one place ahead of his team-mate and championship rival Rubens Barrichello. See if Button can strengthen his grip on the Formula 1 World Championship by watching live Formula 1 streaming at www.watchf1.net.

The Singapore Grand Prix produced a surprise podium. McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton started from pole and won the race, while Toyota driver Timo Glock surprised many with a second place finish. Fernando Alonso gave his Renault team reason to celebrate after a difficult few weeks following the departure of leading team members Flavio Briatore and Pat Symonds amidst race fixing allegations.

F1 Japanese Grand PrixThe Suzuka circuit which will host the 2009 Japanese GP is one of the most challenging on the Formula 1 calendar. A lap of Suzuka measures 5.807 km (3.608 miles) and the F1 drivers will have to complete 53 of them, giving a total Grand Prix distance of 307.573 km (191.126 miles). Watch the Japanese Grand Prix live online at www.watchf1.net to find out if anyone can better Felipe Massa’s lap record of 1 minute, 18.426 seconds, set last year in a Ferrari.

The Japanese Grand Prix alternates between Suzuka and Fuji. Last year’s race at Fuji saw Alonso emerge victorious, with Robert Kubica and Kimi Raikkonen joining the Spaniard on the podium. Watch live F1 streaming at www.watchf1.net to see if Alonso can record another Japanese GP victory. Kubica will find it difficult to repeat his podium performance of last year in what has been a disastrous season for BMW Sauber.

Red Bull were back on the pace again in Singapore, only for Mark Webber to crash out with brake failure. Despite the team’s competitiveness it now looks as though the battle for the 2009 Formula 1 World Championship is between Brawn GP team-mates Button and Barrichello. Find out which driver emerges on top at Suzuka by subscribing to www.watchf1.net and enjoy Formula 1 live online as the season reaches a climax. A subscription also gives access to live online streaming of other major series, including MotoGP and NASCAR.

Nico Rosberg looked in contention for victory in Singapore, only to ruin his own chances. After crossing the pit exit line in his Williams Rosberg was handed a drive through penalty which removed any chance of the young German scoring his maiden Formula 1 win. Watch the 2009 Japanese Grand Prix live online at www.watchf1.net to see if Rosberg can turn his undoubted pace into a race winning performance. Whatever happens at Suzuka the only certainty is that the 2009 F1 title will not be decided there. The battle may yet go to the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.

Team boss Flavio Briatore will have to defend himself from allegations brought against him by disgruntled former driver Nelson Piquet. The sacked Brazilian has told the FIA that he was instructed to crash deliberately in last year’s Singapore Grand Prix in a bid to help his team-mate Fernando Alonso win the race. Alonso benefited from the subsequent safety car period and did go on to claim victory.

Lewis Hamilton provided plenty of drama at Monza, crashing his McLaren heavily on the final lap. Follow the Singapore GP live online at www.watchf1.net to see if the defending Formula 1 World Champion can last the distance this time.
